Portugal’s First and Largest Industrial Self-Consumption Solar System Commissioned

19/08/2018

Today marks the commencement of operation of a photovoltaic (PV) self-consumption plant at the FRUTAS PATRÍCIA PILAR S.A. site in Torres Vedras, Portugal.

The first phase of the project includes the installation of 1,698 solar panels, each with a capacity of 265 W, totaling 450 kWp. The system is expected to generate approximately 805,000 kWh of clean energy annually, contributing to a reduction of around 226 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year.

This project stands as a pioneering milestone in Portugal, being recognized as one of the first and largest self-consumption solar energy systems of its kind to become operational in the country, setting a benchmark for future industrial renewable energy adoption.
